His Majesty King Abdullah II underscored the importance of advancing the digital transformation project within the Sharia courts to enhance citizens' access to services during a meeting on Sunday.

His Majesty met with the Chief Islamic Justice, Dr. Abdul Hafez Rabtah, and the President of the Supreme Sharia Court, Dr. Kamal Al-Samadi, who presented the annual report on the status and operations of the Sharia courts for 2023. His Majesty stressed the need to continue building the capabilities of judges and support staff.

Dr. Rabtah discussed the strategic plan of the Chief Islamic Justice Department for 2023–2025, which focuses on governance, digitization, institutional resource development, and improving institutional outcomes, aligning with the government's public sector modernization efforts.

Rabtah also highlighted the success of the Family Reform, Mediation, and Reconciliation Offices in restoring normalcy to over 9,000 families and redirecting more than 40,000 cases from litigation to amicable agreements.

He noted that a total of 130,000 electronic family cards have been issued to those entitled, with over 28,000 cards issued in the past year alone.

The meeting was attended by Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi and the King's Office Director, Dr. Jaafar Hassan.
